Israeli attorney general says Netanyahu is politically driven decision-making
Baharav-Miara stressed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom she referred to as being “in a conflict of interest,” can’t take any part in selecting a newly assigned Shin Bet head.
In an announcement which had her legal perspective, which was released in the middle of increasing dispute in Israel after Netanyahu announced Zini’s appointment, came out due to critics making an accusation against the prime minister due to politically driven decision-making process.
In the announcement intended for Netanyahu, Baharav-Miara stated that he is “deeply entangled in a serious conflict of interest regarding the appointment of the new Shin Bet chief”. In addition to that, he “acted in violation of a Supreme Court decision, deliberately breaching binding legal directives.”
